Rifqi, who is ranked 1458th in the world, will serve Nepal's representative, Samrakshyak Bhusan Bajracharya, on the main field of the Jakabaring Tennis Center in Palembang on Sunday (8/19). This is Rifqi's debut.
"Although this is the first experience in this big event, I am ready to show the best game at the 2018 Asian Games. Just beat it," said Rifqi.
Anthony Susanto, 21, will appear in the second match in the main field. The 1779 world single-ranked player will face a representative of Pakistan who enters the 1848th position in the world, Muhammad Abid Ali Khan Akbar.
In addition to the single number, Anthony will also compete in the double sector duet with his brother, David Agung Susanto. The Red and White couple faced a double from Maldives, Faaih Fazeel Abdulia / Saai Waheed Ahmed.
Meanwhile, Beatrice Gumulya became the only squad of the host girls who competed on the inaugural day. The 753th single-world ranking faced the Maldives representative, Zeina Abdul Rasheed.
