El primer objetivo específico es conocer cuál es el papel de las competiciones deportivas en el proceso de socialización. Por lo que se ha observado a lo largo de la investigación, se entiende el deporte colectivo, el voleibol en este caso, como un agente socializador de gran importancia, pues tras la revisión de las entrevistas y la observación participante, se entiende que los jugadores necesitan una relación con otros jugadores.
La necesidad de comunicación se entiende como de gran importancia en este deporte, luchar por un objetivo común en un grupo formado por más de una decena de jugadores no se entiende sin la socialización.
En un primer momento, el investigador solo entendía que la socialización se daba de mayor forma entre jugadores del mismo equipo, tras la revisión del trabajo de campo, el marco de la socialización se amplía también a jugadores rivales, donde el voleibol, siendo un deporte de carácter poco agresivo y que no existen un número elevado de jugadores, los practicantes mantienen relaciones de amistad a pesar de ser rivales.
Por ello, confirmamos la primera hipótesis de la investigación, afirmando que el deporte es u agente socializador donde se ve de forma clara que el voleibol y el deporte en general tiene un gran papel en la socialización de todas las personas que lo practican.
