The Arsenal midfielder and defender was involved in an attempted carjacking at Golders Green in North London last month. Fortunately, they came out uninjured.

Ozil and Kolasinac were both left out of the Emirates cup match against Lyon in which Arsenal lost the match but they both featured in Arsenal last preseason match against Barcelona last Sunday and were expected to be in contention for selection for the opening game tomorrow but it will not be happening.

This came after Arsenal released a statement in which they ruled out both players for selection against Newcastle.

The statement goes;

"Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac will not be part of the squad for our opening match against Newcastle United following further security incidents which are being investigated by the police.
"The welfare of our players and their families is always a top priority and we have taken this decision following discussion with the players and their representatives.
We are liaising with the police and are providing the players and their families with ongoing support. We will not be making any further comment on the matter."

Reports say both players are fine and safe but PA reported that different incidents have been happening at different times over the past days.

The latest incidents are however being investigated by the police.
