The greatest Athletes of all time
Good day fellow sport lovers across the globe. How’re you doing today and how’s the weather over there? It’s cool here though. Have a great time on my blog as you read along.
As you’re all aware that my last few posts were focused on Basketball, so I decided to diversify and write a quality post on sports generally and thereby selects a general topic that comprises of almost all kinds of sports people engage in around the world.
According to research, information and stats gathered, I’ll be discussing the top five greatest Athletes of all time and guess who the first on the list is. It’s the worldwide known Professional American basketball player named Michael Jeffrey Jordan with his popular alias known as “MJ”.
Michael Jeffrey Jordan was born on the 17th of February, in New York City. He’s the principal owner and chairman of Charlotte Hornets of NBA with the current net worth of 1.9billion US Dollars.
He was labeled as the greatest basketball player of all time while he was still playing as a shooting guard in NBA, as a result of the numerous achievements and records he set, such as 6times NBA Champion, 6times NBA finals MVP, 5times Most Valuable player, 3times All Star Game MVP, 1988 Defensive Player of the year and many more.
The second greatest Athlete on the list is none other than the American Professional Golfer named Eldrick Tont Woods. He’s was born on the 30th of December, 1975 in Cypess, California and he’s popularly known as Tiger Woods.
He was labeled as one of the greatest sport players of all times as he was an agile, skilled and talented golfer and also due to his accomplishments while he was still playing. These accomplishments include 1994 Golf World Man of the Year, 11times PGA Tour player of the year, 11times PGA Player of the Year, 9times Vardon Trophy honors and 9times Byron Nelson Award to mention few.
While the third on the list is the late American Professional Boxer named Muhammad Ali. He was born on the 17th of January, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky. United States and started training to be a professional boxer at the age of 12.
He’s among the greatest Athletes of all time with the outstanding records and achievements he set in the Boxing History and in which some of it are winning 56 fights of 61 with 37KOs and just 5loses. He was also a 3times HeavyWeight Champion of the world and so on.
And the fourth on the list is the late American Professional Baseball player named George Herman ,popularly known as “Babe Ruth Jr”. He was born on the 6th of feburary 1895, MaryLand, United States. He’s also widely known as “The Great Bambino” and “The Sultan of Swat”.
He found his place among the greatest Athletes in History based on the unique records he laid down while he was still in game and some of these records include; the first person to ever hit 30, 40, 50 and 60 home runs in a single season, he’s also the only one to have a career slugging percentage of .690 as well a career on-base slugging percentage of 1.164 and many more.
And the last person on the list is the retired Professional American Basketball player named Shaquille Rashaun O’Neal, who is now a sport analyst on an NBA television program on TNT. He was born on the 6th of March 1972 in New Jersey, United States. He was also one of the tallest and heaviest players in NBA history and has earned himself a name in the history while playing center for six teams in his 19 years career.
He also had outstanding and significant achievements which has carved his name in the history of sports such as 4times NBA Champion, 15times NBA All Star, 3times NBA Finals MVP, FIBA World Championship MVP and many more.
However, we have loads of great Athletes of all time excluding the ones mentioned, the likes of Jim Brown, Wilt Chamberlin and B.O Jackson among others. I only picked a sample out of the entire population.
