Kyle Lowry Withdraws From USA Basketball Team
Kyle Lowry, an All Star point guard of the Toronto Raptors, has announced officially on his Instagram that he withdraws his commitmnet in Team USA and won't be playing for the USA national team in the upcoming FIBA World Cup.
We have seen many All-Star and All-Star caliber players like Anthony Davis, James Harden, Bradley Beal and many more withdrew and backed out from playing in the FIBA World Cup. For most of them, the reason is to focus on their teams in the upcoming NBA season.
However, for Lowry, his reason is different. He is about having a full recovery from his left thumb injury that underwent successful surgery. It was about getting healthy. He was cleared from any basketball-related activities to fully recover from his injury.
Lowry is not taking any risk and make his injury worse as he is one of the important players for the Raptors. The team will be defending their title next season. The Raptors can't afford to lose another star player since they lost Kawhi in free agency.
The USA team is now composed of young players and it is up to them to bring the USA team on top of the FIBA World Cup.
