Bale speaks perfect Spanish, he's just shy' - ex-Wales boss Coleman slams 'unfair' criticism of Real Madrid star
Though Gareth Bale plays an important role in much of the club's recent successes, it is claimed that the winger has never really been accepted by the Blancos' fans. This was disclosed by former Wales boss, Chris Coleman who has targeted Gareth Bale's detractors at Real Madrid. He discards the suggestions that the attacker refused to learn Spanish fluently so as to better integrate with his team-mates and says it is simply not true.
Bale's Madrid career has been filled with ups and downs but the winger has scored very important and incredible goals for the club but has never been truly accepted by the club's fanbase.
Their grouse being his inability to speak fluent Spanish and inability to socialize with team-mates outside the pitch.
I’ve been with Gareth in Madrid, in a restaurant, and he’s speaking perfect Spanish, ordering food, greeting people. He was very polite, but it’s his own space. He has done all his talking on the pitch. He is the most decorated foreign import from the UK.”
