Who has the best odds to hoist the Lombardi trophy come February? According to the odds it is the New England Patriots. Familiar territory for Bellichick and company no doubt. But the question I always want to answer is who is worth betting on.

Current odds from 5 Dimes Sportsbook are as follows:

New England Patriots +485
Seattle Seahawks +825
Pittsburgh Steelers +925
Green Bay Packers +1000
Atlanta Falcons +1500
Dallas Cowboys +1600
Oakland Raiders +1800
Kansas City Chiefs +1900
New York Giants +2450
Carolina Panthers +3000
Denver Broncos +3300
Tennessee Titans +3300
Arizona Cardinals +3600
Tampa Bay Buccaneers +3700
Houston Texans +3800
Minnesota Vikings +3800
Philadelphia Eagles +4700
Los Angeles Chargers +5000
New Orleans Saints +5000
Baltimore Ravens +5500
Cincinnati Bengals +6500
Indianapolis Colts +6600
Detroit Lions +7000
Miami Dolphins +7500
Washington Redskins +8000
Jacksonville Jaguars +10000
Buffalo Bills +20000
Chicago Bears +20000
Los Angeles Rams +25000
Cleveland Browns +30000
San Francisco 49ers +40000
New York Jets +50000

After last nights beat down, it would be real easy to dismiss the Patriots, but that would be unwise. While I would not bet money on them for a superbowl future due to the short odds, they are still the cream of the crop until proven otherwise.

A couple teams that I like based on the odds:

Steelers +925 - Big Ben has a good core around him, and have the offensive fire power to light any team up. They are definitely capable of a late playoff run and beating Brady and the Pats to get to the big game. Not my favorite to place my hard earned dollars on. But if you are a fan of the Steel Curtain definitely worth placing something on.

Seahawks +825 Pete Carroll has a solid team in place once again. I like them, but odds are probably spot on. On futures bets, lets find a longer than 10 to 1 shot. But if you are a 12th man, definitely worth putting a c-note on and making February that much more enjoyable if you win.

New York Giants +2450 This is where I put a little bit. Eli has more weapons around him than last year. They have a under appreciated defense. If they can make the playoffs, they have the fire power and D to make a good run for it. Eli also has experience. At almost 25 to 1, I can become a Giants fan for one year.

Tell me who you like at these odds and why?

Sort:

I like Green Bay they should have a much better season than last time. Tennessee Titans might be a smokey and they can make the playoffs this season

I am high on the Titans also, just not sure they have a complete team that can make a run deep in the playoffs. Green Bay has a couple question marks, but if they make the playoffs, which they should, Rodgers has the ability to carry them.

I really like the Giants and Steelers this year. The Giants D on paper at least, resembles their most recent championship teams. Stout D line with the ability to get to the quarterback and offensively this is the best group of weapons Eli has had to work with maybe ever. DGB of course needs to be healthy but Brandon Marshall was a huge pickup and is a first down machine and big threat in the red zone.

The Steelers we all know have the offensive firepower to get it done, but if the Defense can stay healthy, mainly Shazier and the young secondary comes of age, they can provide enough support to Ben and the offense to get it done. They have so much talent, they just have to stay healthy.

Steelers have the complete package, only issue for me on a futures wager is Big Ben staying healthy. I know injuries can happen to anyone at anytime, but Ben has been injury prone last few years and he has not gotten any younger.

I like the Dallas Cowboys this year. They have a big running game and endurance which is important and Ezekiel Elliot will play a key role in the success. I think the roster has more depth than what people notice. It's going to be a great season no matter what the end result.

Cowboys are definitely a good team, and at 16 to 1 getting a fair price for a flyer. They still have arguably the best offensive line in the game, but one year does not a QB make. Not a bad bet, but I sided with Eli's rings and experience for my bet.

Yeah I can see your point and I agree that experience does play a big part in not only getting to the final dance but being able to play at a level that will win you the trophy on the day.
