The Mystery of Consistency

in #sports6 years ago

First order of business, Jonathan Quick is now tied with Mike Richter for fourth most wins by an American born goalie. His main concern is Ryan Miller who actually plays on the Ducks right now but who is aging and injured. If he can gain 74 wins on Miller by the time he retires he will take the record. Quick is 6 years younger with a good 8 years left, there is a good chance Quick will gain the record within 5 years.

How do you lose to the Senators and then beat the Penguins? Don't ask me. On the question of the playoffs give me until game 54 (2/3s of the season dunzo) before I make a prediction. At this point right now I honestly have no clue. If I had to make a prediction I would say yes, but we would need to gain 8 points in 36 games, doable, but, we would need consistency! No more siestas!

It is a beautiful thing to beat the Pens like this, 5-2. Jeff Carter stole the puck from two Penguins, pushed them aside and lasered the puck perfectly into the corner to tie the game 1-1. It was a sight to behold. Keep it up Carter.

Next week is a road trip, @MIN, @DAL, @COL. Right now DAL would clinch while MIN and COL would meet in the wild card game. The MIN game is 1700 Pacific Standard Kings Time on Tuesday. They have this goalie Dubnyk who is pretty amazing. Their game against the Kings will be the second in a back to back. Will they play Dubnyk against the Flyers the night before and rest him against the Kings? That would be nice.

The Kings are basically healthy so injuries are no longer an excuse. Time to make it happen.

Carter shooting that puck like it keyed his car.
