Tottenham Vs Liverpool
If there's going to be the game of the week in the Epl this week, then surely it has to be the Tottenham Vs Liverpool game.
Most definitely the most controversial game with so many talking points. I mean yesterday's game proved my point of the Epl being the most interesting league currently.
For some people it was just another game, but for me it was the Star Match. With the likes Harry Kane, Mohammed Sarah, Sadio Mane, Dele Alli, Roberto Firmino, Dembele and so on.
For me being a Manchester City fan, I was definitely supporting Tottenham. Why? Because Liverpool were the team to break our unbeaten run, so I was looking for some kind of revenge.
Liverpool had an early goal in the first half due to miscommunication from the defence of Tottenham and they were duly punished for it.
Tottenham came back in the second half a better team getting most of the ball but unable to penetrate Liverpool's strong defence.
And then in the last minutes of the game, Tottenham's coach introduced Wanyama in place of Dembele who for me had to be the Man of the match. Then came the goal from Wanyama, a super volley that almost destroyed the net. Just like I said on twitter, Wanyama's goal has to be the goal of the week in my opinion.
Then the drama unfolded, A Tottenham was seen to have been tripped by Lovren in Liverpool's 18 yard box just in the final minutes and Tottenham were awarded a penalty.
With all eyes on Harry Kane to score, he missed it. It was an end to end affair, with that miss. Liverpool launched an attack and found a goal through Salah again.
And then came the controversial part of the game, the point where Tottenham were awarded a second penalty where Lamela was brought to Ground by the 75millon worth defender Van dijt. That was the major talking. Some people are of the view that Lamela was initially offside and others think he dived too easily but whatever the case they were awarded the penalty.
Harry Kane stepped on to the stage again, this time putting the ball at the back of the net, making it 2-2.
It was one of hell of a game
I do agree with you. This was the game of the week. It’s time for the EPl to start using VAR (Video assistant ref). VAR was needed in that game yesterday. It’s hard to rely on referees these days when it comes to making decision.
Somehow I prefer the referees making the decisions, for me that's the beauty of the game. They can't always be correct with their decisions. But definitely VAR was needed in that game
VAR is needed in the game of football. The referee's role in the game is still very important but we do need VAR to assist the ref in making decisions that has to do with offisdes, penalties and even free kick decision. Just a few seconds of replay won't hurt the game.
