Ryan Suter Breaks Fibula, Wild Recall Carson Soucy from Iowa
After awkwardly slamming into the boards midway through the Wild's loss to the Dallas Stars in Big-D, Ryan Suter stayed down and had to be helped off the ice.
When Suter stays down, you know it's serious and that proved to be the case as it was later diagnosed to be a broken Fibula that will see the Wild's number 1 defender miss at least a month and possibly more.
The Wild's problems are compounded as Suter's normal first defensive pair partner, Jared Spurgeon is already out long term with a partial tear in his right hamstring.
But the one positive to come out of this, is that the Wild do in fact have depth at defense in their organisation. Ryan Murphy is already playing solid NHL minutes and Suter's latest injury means a call-up for Carson Soucy from Iowa.
Soucy has 15 points this season with 1 goal and 14 assists in 67 games with Iowa in the AHL.
