Last season, Delhi bought Sandeep Lamichane for just 20 lacks Indian rupees(nearly $31000) and handed Lamichance contract for their 2018 season. This year it hasn't told for how much he is retained by the Delhi Daredevils. The Delhi coach Ricky Ponting kept his faith on this Nepali youngster and told that he might be very useful for Delhi that season. The Nepali Youngster didn’t get the much opportunity to show what he is worthy of in 2018 season. Sandeep got a chance to play only after Delhi were out of the competition. He played last three matches for DD against RCB, CSK, and MI. He took 5 wickets in those 3 matches. He took the wickets of some of the World’s famous batsmen.
In his first match against RCB, he bowled 4 overs with the economy of 6.25 and took the wicket of Parthiv Patel. In next match against 2018 IPL winner CSK, he bowled 4 overs with the economy of 5.25 and took the important wicket of Suresh Raina and in their final match of the season against MI he took 3 wickets of Surya Kumar Yadav, Krunal Pandya, and Kieron Pollard. His contributions helped Delhi to win their last 2 matches of 2018 season. The former Australian captain and DD coach Ricky Ponting was so impressed that time by Sandeep’s performance and had said
I will definitely want to see him next year in Delhi’s shirt. I will suggest Delhi board members retain him for next year too.
After IPL season 2018
After playing with Delhi last season, he played from Montreal tigers in the first edition of GT20 Canada. The 18 years-old leg break spinner took 8 wickets from 5 matches. Then after that, he went to the West Indies and became the first player to play in the Caribbean Premier League. He played for St Kitts & Nevis Patriots.
