Roger Federer, born August 8, 1981 in Basel, is a Swiss tennis player. Professional player since 1998, he holds the record of 302 weeks (5 years and 9 months and a half) spent first place in the ATP World Tour World Ranking, as well as the men's record of 20 victories in the Grand Slam tournaments. He finished the calendar year in first place on five occasions (in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2009). He was a gold medalist in men's doubles with Stanislaw Wawrinka at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and then vice-Olympic champion in singles in London in 2012. Finally, in 2014, he won the Davis Cup with the Swiss team, beating in final team France
