Hertha Berlin revived its hopes of staying in the German football league (Bundesliga), after its precious 2-1 victory over Schalke 04, today, Wednesday, in a postponed match from the 31st stage of the competition.
Herta's score rose to 34 points in 13th place, 5 points ahead of Colón, who is in 17th place (penultimate), whose owner is relegated to the second division directly, two weeks before the end of the tournament.
Herta is also two points ahead of Armenia Bielefeld, third-placed from the bottom, who qualifies for a play-off to avoid relegation in front of the third-place holder in the second division.
On the other hand, Schalke, whose decline was officially confirmed, stuck at 13 points, to remain at the bottom of the standings in the 18th place.
Amin Harith scored for Schalke in the early minute (6), but Belgian Diederik Buyata quickly tied for Herta in the 18th minute.
While Jessik Njangkam added the second goal of the German capital team in the 74th minute.
Herta ended the match with 10 players after Dodi Lukibakio was sent off in the 89th minute, for receiving the second warning.
