Remembering the Miracle of Istanbul: Liverpool vs AC Milan UCL Final 2005

It doesn't matter if you love Liverpool or hate them, it can safely be said that the so-called "Miracle of Istanbul" was among the most glorious comebacks not only in Liverpool history, but in the history of televised sport. Even if football/soccer isn't your thing, I think there's a part of all of us that loves to see the underdog take home the win, and on the 25th of May 2005 that's exactly what Liverpool did...in style.

With AC Milan hot off the heels of a group victory against Barcelona having taken on the likes of Manchester United and PSV Eindhoven, they approached the final as strong favourites to take the win over Liverpool. Although Liverpool did manage to make it to the final with victories over Bayer Leverkeusen, Chelsea and Juventus, they found themselves the decided underdogs in the final after coming second in their group to AS Monaco.
