Yamaha Movistar boss Lin Jarvis insists he has done nothing to renew his contract with Valentino Rossi. However, he hopes the Italian rider will remain with the team after the 2018 season.

The Doctor's spokesman will be 39 years old on the first day of pre-season tests in Thailand that fall on Friday (16/2/2018). However, until now Rossi has not renewed his contract with the team that will end at the end of the 2018 season.

Previously the owner of the race number 46 is admitted optimistic continue his career in the world of MotoGP racing. He plans to wait until the end of the pre-season test and miss a few races in the first season of 2018 before formally signing the contract with the team.

On the other hand, Jarvis also claims that a fully experienced rider will likely continue his racing career, at least another season. But until now no one has done Rossi.

"I can assure you that nothing is done right now, but I imagine it will not be long until Valentino's situation is clarified and I really hope to be with us again on the grid next season," explained Jarvis, who adapted to Motorsport on Friday (16 / 2/2018).

"Yesterday we were actually in Manila for a promotional event and Valentino explained to the media there that at this moment he should have the intention and desire to continue his racing career. It is unclear whether he can decide to do a one-season contract or maybe a two-year contract with us, "he continued..

"We are closely connected, we have talked to each other and we have decided that we want to see some tests at least under the belt before making a decision.

Perhaps after going through several races, it is hard to say when Rossi signed a contract that I think all three tests are important , we have done everything and Valentino feels comfortabl iteme right then.Of course, we have not set the time for now.
