Why We Need to Bridge GLX and COLONY to EVM Chains

in #splinterlands16 hours ago

One of the tricky things with Tokenomics is that difficulty of selling assets leads to a reduction in potential investors. We don't have any on chain evidence on investors that did their research and never bought. $SPS is already on Crypto.com, Gate, MEXC which are all among the top 10 CEXs by trading volume. The foundations are set for future and trader can trade through the interfaces they are already familiar with. All we need to do is onboard more players/investors and build a sustainable economy to go mainstream.

I understand that getting a CEX listing for a project with a small marketcap and low trading volume is very difficult. What we can do almost unilaterally is getting ourselves on DEXs. These are designed to be permissionless. Getting a user to paste a contract address into DEX UI because the Token does not show up on their UI is low friction compared to getting users into HIVE-Engine or Tribaldex where they can find order books and pools for swaps.

HIVE-Engine Has The Infrastructure

Above are some of the cryptocurrencies that are being traded on HIVE-Engine order books. As you can see, there are assets from 3 EVM Chains + Solana being traded. There are other UTXO (Unspent Transaction Output) cryptocurrencies supported on the DEX. They are not important for the discussion today. We are focusing on blockchains that support smart contracts with large DEX volumes and already linked to HIVE-Engine. Building entirely new connections will take too many resources out of an already tiny development team for @gls.goals and @arcadecolony platforms.

Splinterlands as a Testnet

There are many similarities with the way Splinterlands, Genesis League Sports and Arcade Colony are designed. There are many team members in common and the all 3 projects have the same founders. Whatever worked for one project could be used for the other. Take a look at the EVM Chains mentioned above.

  • Ethereum
  • Binance Smart Chain
  • Polygon

Many DAPPs (especially DEXs) are present on all of those blockchains because of the shared DNA. Imagine seeing those 3 blockchains listed among the destinations for where you could transfer your COLONY to.

The daily volumes we see on HIVE DEXs are very low compared to Uniswap, Sushiswap, Pancakeswap etc. More volume does not mean more people will invest into COLONY or GLX. Volume and liquidity are indicators of the number of investors and the amount of wealth in the blockchain. Getting a small piece of a big pie is preferable to a large piece of a small pie. Of course, the ideal situation is becoming a gaming giant that is known across the world and get large piece of a large pie.

Start A Bridge to BNB Chain

This we already have some SPS volume along with DAO owned Liquidity Pools. Having a pool with SPS will be a great start. There are already DEXs that find the best route to make swaps. Making even one LP available on BNB Chain is a good start. A wrapped version of SPS on Polygon was created in partnership with LeoDEX during the POLYCUB days. I'm not a blockchain developer. Is it wrong to assume that most of the code could be reusable for GLX and COLONY?

5 Exchanges in 1 Website

Visit LeoDEX and take a look around. There are many wallets supported and cross chain swaps are available in a way where the user has minimal amount of work to do. It is not completely grandma friendly, but I would say LeoDEX is 80 of the way there. Consider it a place to use the following backends:

I Continue to Stake COLONY

I am not writing these articles to ask for an easy exit for my stake. Most probably I will HODL my COLONY for the next few years without unstaking. The same goes for GLX. These projects are high risk investments with the potential for a high return. I want to go all the way and see the project grow into something huge. If all goes well, we will have a one stop Web 3 Arcade with many amazing games to play.

I want more investors to be able to buy and invest in COLONY. I know that it will reduce the amount of COLONY I make from staking. The price appreciation can more than make up for it. I plan for the long term. I know the team has been working very hard. Latest updates can be found on Discord along with any technical support needed. We need to become accessible technologically and we need to be accessible for large investors through liquidity.

I believe we have most other things taken care of. There is a great team and a small community of believers who went through a terrible and prolonged bear market. We have good technology and developers. We have our won decentralized social media. The articles like the one I'm writing now can help with SEO and AI training.

Best of Luck Building The Future!
