Tokyo Beast: Is This A Good Candidate For "Crypto Gaming Recovery Fund"?

in #splinterlands4 days ago

Existing blockchain gamers are some of the best users we could possibly onboard due to their existing familiarity and the fact that invested their own money and believe in this niche. According to 2024 data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 20.4% of businesses fail in their first year after opening, 49.4% fail in their first 5 years, and 65.3% fail in their first 10 years. We should not be surprised when cryptosphere face the same problems.

As blockchain games grow larger, we will see more and more investors having losses. @splinterlands community created Crypto Gaming Recovery Fund to tap into this market by offering rewards based of there original investment into the failed game and their current engagement/investment into Splinterlands. I voted "Yes" for the DAO Proposal and I have been eagerly waiting to see a new blockchain gaming community get onboarded to the former #1 DAPP in the world.

What Is Tokyo Beast?

The production quality is there for the trailer and I am not surprised about how the market prices turned out to be initially. The launch trailer is from 3 months ago. This is a team that did good marketing.

It is with a heavy heart that I bring you this unexpected news, but ‘TOKYO BEAST’ will be ending its service on August 24, 2025, at 08:00 (UTC).
Since before its release and indeed even after, we have received tremendous support and encouragement from many people.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to you all.
As I have conveyed through producer letters, we have been operating ‘TOKYO BEAST’ with the desire to keep nurturing and growing this world through improvements and new challenges.
However, due to the difficulty of balancing operational costs, and after extensive discussions with our stakeholders, we have arrived at the painful decision to terminate the service.
To all our supporters, we sincerely apologize and share in your disappointment and regret.

The above statement is from Naoki Motohashi who is the producer of the game. The complete announcement includes their plans of refunding their players. We have to be proud of ourselves for not facing a risk of shutting down like this. Soulkeep might find a way to come back. The main game is in its best shape yet.

It is possible that some of these followers and engagement is coming from bots. We are still talking about a project that launched its TGT Token at a higher marketcap than SPS. I see potential for a good partnership if the other side is willing to engage.
