El venezolano Ronald Acuña Jr., quien fuera galardonado la temporada pasada como Novato del Año ya comenzó a dar de que hablar en la naciente temporada del Big Show cuando fuese seleccionado, por segunda vez en su carrera, como Jugador de la Semana.

Acuña Jr., tuvo una semana verdaderamente productiva, pues en el lapso comprendido entre del 8 al 14 de abril, Acuña dejó promedio de bateo de 545, al conseguir 12 inatrapables en 22 turnos legales al bate. En ese período conectó tres cuadrangualares y remolcó nueve anotaciones, con que lo cual el jardinero de los Bravos de Atlanta pudo recuperarse de un flojo comienzo y pasar de raquitico 192 de promedio al bate a un destacado 302 de average al bate.
Con lo conseguido hasta la fecha ya el joven jardinero venezolano lidera a los jugadores de su equipo, los Bravos de Atlanta, en WAR con 1.5 y es segundo en la L.N. detrás de quien alcanzara la distinción de Jugador de la Semana, la semana anerior, Cody Bellinger que acumula 1.9.
