Saludos Steemianos y Steemianas, espero que tengan un feliz Steemit. Te invito a leer las guías en mi perfil, si apenas hoy, aterrizas en Steemit. Es probable que hayas notado que dentro de nuestros perfiles poseemos 4 tipos de claves. Para todo Steemer es vital conocer sus usos y mejores prácticas. Sólo así puedes estar seguro y confiado a la hora de realizar operaciones dentro, y fuera de la plataforma.
En nuestros perfiles contamos con las siguientes claves:

Recibiendo la clave maestra u "owner key" al crear la cuenta.

Actualmente (fecha Octubre 31 de 2017), luego de realizar unas confirmaciones, el sistema nos envía un enlace y al acceder al enlace procedemos a crear la cuenta. Justo en ese momento tenemos poder de nuestra clave maestra.

Utilizar solamente en computadoras o dispositivos de confianza. Compartir esta clave con otra persona, compromete tu cuenta. Utilizarla sólo para lo que fue creada. Mantener almacenada fuera del alcance del internet. Offline

1: Todo el compendio de las interfaces que utilizan la blockhain de STEEM.

2: El resto de las claves posee 51 caracteres.

Ups! No la tengo respaldada aún.

• Caso 1. Es probable que esté almacenada en algún administrador de contraseñas. Búscala y haz un respaldo.
• Caso 2. La tengo en respaldo pero deseo cambiar el juego completo de las 4 claves por seguridad. (práctica utilizada por Steemers muy precavidos o excesivamente paranoicos). Más adelante te explico cómo cambiar el juego de claves.
• Caso 3. Ni la tengo respaldada, ni guardada. Se me ha perdido la clave maestra. Debes comunicarte con el área de soporte en Steemit.chat y sigue los pasos indicados.

Accesando y respaldando el juego de claves.

1. Entra en tu perfil y ve al apartado "wallet" o "billetera".
2. Entra en el sub-menú "permissions" o "permisos".
3. Verás las claves encriptadas. Ubica el botón a mano derecha que dice "show private key" o "mostrar clave privada".
4. Guarda dichas claves en ubicaciones seguras que sólo tú conozcas.

Uso de la clave de publicación o "posting key" para sitios asociados a la blockchain STEEM.

Hoy día tenemos muchas opciones de otras páginas que hacen uso de la cadena de bloques de STEEM. En dichas páginas web, podemos llevar a cabo distintas operaciones relacionadas a nuestras cuentas en Steemit. Sea cual sea la página que desees utilizar, te recomiendo:

• Utiliza la clave de publicación o "posting key". (Aún si tu cuenta se ve comprometida, puedes cambiar el juego de claves utilizando la clave maestra u "owner key")
• Revisar (dos veces) la seguridad del sitio web que deseas accesar con tu clave de publicación de Steemit.
• Alertar a otros usuarios en caso de robo de clave o sitios web sospechosos.
• Chequea que dicho sitio web posea un certificado SSL.

Clave

Cambiar juego de claves.
Emitir/leer mensajes privados.

Master u "owner key": Debe mantenerse fuera de la web al máximo, utilizar sólo para recuperar claves o cambiar juego de claves.

Los usos concretos de dichas claves son:

• Clave maestra u "owner key": creada para cambiar el juego de claves y recuperar una cuenta en caso de extravío. Es la primera clave que nos otorgan al crear la cuenta.^fuente
• Clave activa o "WIF key": creada para tareas como la transferencia de fondos, las transacciones de "power up/down", la conversión de Steem Dollars, voto de testigos, la actualización de los detalles del perfil y el avatar, y la colocación de una orden de mercado.^fuente
• Clave de publicación o "posting key": creada para que las cuentas publiquen, comenten, editen, voten, hagan "resteem" y sigan o silencien otras cuentas. Se recomienda iniciar sesión en Steemit todos los días con la clave de publicación. Es más probable que tenga su contraseña o clave en peligro cuanto más la use, por lo que existe una clave de publicación limitada para restringir el daño que podría causar una clave de cuenta comprometida.^fuente
• Clave de Memos: actualmente no posee un uso en concreto.^fuente

Cambiando el juego de claves.

Este procedimiento debe realizarse teniendo en cuenta que vas a cambiar el juego de claves completamente. Te recomiendo que apenas lo lleves a cabo, respaldes tus nuevas claves.

1. Entra en tu perfil, habiendo iniciado sesión. Debes tener "a la mano", la clave maestra u "owner key".
2. Ubica el apartado "billetera" o "wallet".
3. Entra en "password" o "clave".
4. Justo debajo de tu nombre de usuario, coloca la clave maestra actual.
5. Presiona el botón "generate password" o "generar clave".
6. El sistema crea una nueva clave maestra. Debes respaldarla y colocarla, como verificación, en la caja de texto que se te indica.
7. Habiendo guardado tu clave maestra, marca las cajas de chequeo.
8. Haz clic en "update password" o "actualizar contraseña".

Listo, ya posees un juego de claves nuevo. Te aconsejo respaldar dichas claves nuevas.

Nota: En caso de robo o pérdida u olvido, puedes iniciar el proceso de recuperación de clave. Te recomiendo visitar el canal de ayuda en Steemit.chat para mayor información.

Hello Steemians, I hope you have a happy Steemit. I invite you to read the guides within my profile if you are landing into Steemit. You have probably noticed that within our profiles we have 4 types of keys. For each Steemer it is vital to know its uses and best practices. Only then you can be confident while performing operations inside and outside the platform. In our profiles we have the following keys:

Receiving the master key or "owner key" when creating the account.

Currently (date October 31st, 2017), after making some confirmations, the system sends us a link. After accessing the link we proceed to create the account. Right at that moment we have within our grasp the master key of our account.

Master - "Owner key"	Activate the procedure for changing the 4 keys. Recover a stolen or lost account.	52 characters2.	Upon receiving this key you must back it up. Use only on computers or trusted devices. Sharing this key with another person, compromise your account. Use it only for what it was created. Keep stored out of reach of the internet. Offline, cold storage.

• Case 1. It is likely to be stored in some password manager. Look for it and make a backup, please.
• Case 2. I have it in backup but I want to change the complete set of the 4 keys for security. (practice used by very cautious Steemers or excessively paranoid ones). Later I'll explain how to change the keys.
• Case 3. I have neither backed it nor saved it. I missed the master key. You must contact the support area at Steemit.chat and follow the steps.

Accessing and backing up the key set.

1. Enter your profile and go to the "wallet" section.
2. Enter the "permissions" sub-menu.
3. You will see the encrypted keys. Locate the button on the right hand side that says "show private key".
4. Save those keys in secure locations that only you know.

Use of the publication key or "posting key" for any site associated within STEEM blockchain .

Today we have many options for other pages that make use of the STEEM blockchain. In these web pages, we can carry out different operations related to our accounts in Steemit. Whatever page you want to use, I recommend:

• Use the publication key or "posting key". (Even if your account gets compromised, you can change the key set using the master key or "owner key")
• Check (two times) the security of the website you wish to access with your Steemit publication key.
• Alert other users in case of key theft or suspicious websites.
• Check that the website has a certificate SSL.

Keys and their uses.

Key
Transfer funds. Execute trades. Power up/down SP. Vote witnesses.
Publish Comment. Vote. Follow/Unfollow.
Change set of keys.
Emit/read private messages.

Master or "owner key": Must be kept outside the web to the maximum, use only to recover keys or change the key set.

The specific uses of these keys are:

• Master key or owner key: created to change the key set and recover an account in case of loss. It is the first key that we are granted when creating the account.^source
• Active key or WIF key: created for tasks such as the transfer of funds, transactions of "power up/down", the conversion of Steem Dollars, vote of witnesses, the update of profile details and the avatar, and the placement of a market order.^source
• Publication key or posting key: created for the accounts to publish, comment, edit, vote, "resteem" and follow or silence other accounts. It is recommended log in to Steemit every day with the publication key. You are more likely to have your password compromised the more you use it, so there is a limited publication key to restrict the damage that a compromised account key could cause.^source
• Memo key: currently does not have a specific use.^source

Changing the key set.

This procedure must be carried out knowing that you are going to change the key set completely. I recommend you back up your new keys, after doing this procedure.

1. Enter your profile, having logged in. You must have "at hand", the master-owner key.
2. Locate the "wallet" section.
3. Enter "password" section.
4. Just below your username, place the current master key.
5. Press the "generate password" button.
6. The system creates a new master key. You must back it up and place it, as verification, in the input text box that is indicated to you.
7. Having saved your new master key, check the check-boxes.
8. Click on "update password".

Done, you already have a new set of keys. I advise you to back up these new keys.

Note: In case of theft or loss or forgetting, you can start the password recovery process. I recommend you visit the help channel on Steemit.chat for more information.
