2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on earth.
Colossians 3:2
This portion of God's word urges us to fix our eyes on God. The different situations that we live every day, the lack of love in the world among many other things, cause a certain discouragement in us, if we remain with our eyes focused on these things that perish, that are in decline and that do not promise us a future. encouraging we simply will not have any hope. When we set our sights "On things above", it means that we are in tune with the affairs of God and we can live this through the word of God, which is where we have God's will revealed to us.
The way to keep our eyes fixed on things above is to be in communion with God through his word and the guidance of his Holy Spirit.
