Let us stay connected to the source of life!
John gives us a great lesson here. He uses the example of a connection with our roots, with our source of life, and that only when connected can we grow and bear fruit. Just as a branch needs to remain connected to the vine to bear fruit, so too do we need to remain in God to prosper, grow, and bear spiritual fruit.
God is our source of life and only in his presence can we find true purpose and growth. His word is our nourishing food, which gives us growth for eternal life.
4 Abide in me, and I in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.
