Some Of The "Blood Moon" In North America, My Friends...

in #space6 years ago (edited)

A few days ago, I read that here in the United States, we were not going to see any of the "Blood Moon".

I am glad that I went outside tonight to check it out , because when I did, the moon looked like this for about 30 minutes or so..

I took about 20 photos from the left side of our Pecan Trees, as I was being attacked by mosquitoes... The things you'll do for a decent photo ;-))

So, then I moved over to the right side of the trees and took some more photos..

After taking many more photos, I decided to come inside and view them all. I had to delete several because of the blurriness,(due to the attack from those pesky mosquitoes). LOL... They had me dancing out yonder!

About 30 minutes goes by, and I go back outside to see if the moon has gotten any closer(or bigger).
And this time,, with a shirt on!!

This is what I captured on the camera..

It was amazing to catch a glimpse of the blood moon from our house.

I Hope That You All Enjoyed...

Thanks For Viewing!!

Hey I just did a write up about my shot! Good work man!

Hey thanks, I appreciate it.. I'll check out yours, here in a few and get back to ya!!

Hi guy! Write down your camera model and manual settings. I know nothing about astronomy and night photography.

Hey what's going on? I'm just using a Canon Power Shot SX530HS. I don't know a whole lot about this camera, but I have the dial set on Auto and play with the zoom to take my photos.. I hope this helps some.

I have been out half a dozen times, and saw a full moon every time. No color changes, no occlusions, just the Moon. I did see on accompanying star that I think was Mars from the red color, but the Moon just laughed at me.

Yeah it's even a full moon tonight as well. Last night, it may have been that color a lot longer than, what I had saw. I suppose I just caught the last 30 minutes of it.. Ha, I guess you are right, I did see a star to the right of the moon as well, so I took a photo of it and it was red. Yet I couldn't get the camera to focus real good, so I guess I need a better lens?? LOL.. It may have been mars..

Mars is the only one I have seen; that I can see the color with the naked eye! I am pretty sure this one is Mars! :)
