Well the thing is there are other dwarf planets, like Eris, that are even bigger than Pluto. So should they be considered planets now?

Imo rule #3 was made so only planets with stable orbit aren't "demoted" to dwarf planets. Eris was thrown out of it's original orbit by gravitational pulls, so dwarf it is. This probably means Pluto can eventually suffer from the same fate.
