Finally a ray of hope for South African Politics.

South Africa can be a political laughing stock every now and then, wait let me actually quote on this: "There is very big noise about corruption in Africa and indeed we have acknowledged that yes there is, although at times it is quite exaggerated" (https://www.sowetanlive.co.za/news/south-africa/2018-01-30-corruption-is-at-times-exaggerated-says-zuma/). Yes our president said that, can you imagine why?

I did politics as a second major, so these are absolutely captivating times! We have seen a Brazillian president get impeached for corruption, giving us a little hope, but then being Africans we imagined that it was a South American thing. Some time later we heard rumours of a military coup brewing in Zimbabwe, a short while later Mugabe was no longer ruling Zimbabwe, even though he still got pretty favourable conditions for living out his life. Now things have kicked up a gear in South Africa!

The African National Congress (ANC) has finally found half of its spine and recalled the president of the South African Republic. Now this might cause some confusion for non-South Africans, but we have a leader of the ANC Cyril Ramaphosa and a leader of the Country Jacob Zuma. Facing a recall, the nation of South Africa is waiting for Jacob Zuma to resign, or he faces impeachment. Jacob Zuma is most well known for his proximity and corrupt relationship with the Gupta (https://mg.co.za/tag/gupta-family) family and spending millions on improving his own personal residence. In a country where 17million people are on social benefits, 7 million pay taxes and unemployment is around 26% (http://www.statssa.gov.za/?s=unemployment+rate&sitem=content), corruption is unacceptable!

The poor have been left in squalor despite 24 years of democracy. It is time to reclaim and rebuild. South African's have suffered enough!

The light and fire of hope has been lit again!
