Is Reputation Still a Thing?

I remember going through the school system and there being only one thing that really mattered amongst our peers (well atleast for the majority and the "preps") and that was if you had a good reputation and if people liked you or not. We were so crazily ego driven that what people thought about us at that time actually mattered. People love to gossip, tell stories, and sometimes even destroy peoples social lives usually leading and ending up in tragedies. This type of behavior even continues throughout life as we grow older because it seems like some people are stuck in the high school mentality and just will never grow up. Just the thought that we made it through this brutal experience makes us survivors in a way. As the generations are passing, we are seeing more and more these days that the kids are just getting brutal. But I keep faith one day, there has to be a tipping point when the world actually advances and turns around from the destructive path its on. We demand respect but we have to ask ourselves; Who are we to actually deserve that kind of admiration? Where is your ego at right now? What have you done to change your life and the lives of people around you for the better? How is your course in life going to lead up to purpose? Why is your life/emotions in the situation it is in now? If you reflect on all these ideas about yourself truthfully, you should come to realize why you shouldn't feel bad for yourself for the person you became today. I found out that I was lost and started this journey as a "nobody" who felt privileged and had a false sense of entitlement (Which is a common thing found in most people in todays society), now I have found purpose and became someone. Does reputation even matter to you anymore aslong as you're comfortable and are happy with yourself.
