RE: Making Crypto Simple, Easy and Family Friendly
When I've asked some friends why they do not use Steem one of the reasons they give is that it's complicated. Unfortunately we need those long keys to make it secure, but good apps like Keyring do help. Steem has had issues with people accidentally making their keys public and we have to minimise that. We need good developers to help mke it easy.
Industry wide, this is a huge problem. So many people downplay this issue, but public and private keys, and complicated interfaces keep people away. There is no easy solution, but the average person can barely remember their Windows or gmail password. Not knocking any one group, but this is a hurdle the industry has to realize and figure out a solution for.
Password managers and keyring apps are essential. These keys cannot be memorised and copy/pasting is dangerous.
