I've been concerned that someone would steal Steemit's thunder. Maybe this will spur them to get things moving. Others have learnt from what went wrong here. Steemit has a good community, but many will go elsewhere if they think it's a better experience.
I'm afraid you are right. Two years head start, but for some reason it is difficult to learn and implement. The user is not the focus; blockchain features are; focus is on the wrong things imho.
