My first snake of 2020! A little Garter Snake.

It figures! Less than 24 hours after posting a rant about not using Steemit anymore I catch a snake. So maybe this is going to be my last post on Steemit HA HA!

I went for a walk today along the bike trail here in town when I found this little guy. He was sunning in the grass.

He wasn't very big. Maybe a foot and a half long or so. A young Garter Snake but not a baby. The snake had fairly decent markings and color for a Garter Snake. I think he might of been in the early stages of shedding its skin. You can kind of see in the pictures above the eyes are a little filmy. Both eyes had a little spot too. Usually this happens when they get ready to shed their skin. During the full stages of skin shedding the snake is blind and the eyes will be completely covered in a white film giving them an eerie look to them HA HA.
