Acai Berry Smoothie
Acai berries are one of the best foods in the world for you. They contain anthocyanins that help to lower the cholesterol in the blood and plant sterols that improve circulation and prevent blood clots making acai berries great for your heart. They are also very high in fiber contributing to a healthy digestive system and may help you maintain a healthy weight. I buy these smoothie packs (pictured) from the regular grocery store with other frozen fruit. I think they are a great way to add some extra antioxidants to your diet!
- 1 cup unsweet vanilla almond milk
- 1 banana
- 1 acai berry packet
- 1 cup frozen mixed berries
Put all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
I just wish they werent so expensive :'(
My favorite healthy smoothie (bit cheaper) includes: berry flax seed mix (omega 3's), frozen or fresh mixed berries, pineapple juice, plant protein powder, and yerba mate powder. Pretty good and tastes a hell of a lot better than milk based protein shakes (ew!)
A grocery store near me just went out of business and has a 50% off sale so I stocked up :)
I might mess around with the recipe later after the gym. Maybe a little unsweetened coconut milk instead.

Definitely, acai berries can be very expensive. I just use POM along with frozed fuit I get at Sam's Club. Tastes pretty good. Also, Bolthouse Farms is good too.
