Updated Price Calculation
Greetings Steemians,
we hope you're as happy as us, over the recent STEEM price-pump!
As you might remember, 3 months ago, we published a post (Fairer Price Calculation), where we explained our new way of calculating vote-values & more. The reason for this was the dramatic price drop of STEEM (down to 20 cents) and the resulting SBD debt-mechanism.
Without going too much into the tech-detail, the SBD debt-mechanism isn't active anymore, which means were able to go back to using the official internal STEEM price for our vote-value & other calculations.
Now, it could be that you've been seeing some small deviations between the numbers on your Smartsteem.com dashboard and the numbers on Steemit, Partiko & other Steem interfaces, but rest assured, those deviations should either disappear completely or be so small that you're not even going to notice them.
However, please keep in mind, that small differences are always possible and that we're doing our best to offer a fair & transparent service to all of our users - regardless if you're a promotion-buyer or promotion-seller.
You've probably also noticed some other small changes on our website over the recent days, but we'll talk more about that in a separate post.

There is only one thing i have trouble understanding.
I am selling 5,225.06 SP to @smartsteem and vote are going out as they should. The vote calculator tells me that i should receive 2.221 STEEM a day with a current value of $1.043 a day (This is already without the 25% cut for smartsteem). The last 24 hours for example i have earned 0.83 STEEM and 0.25 SBD what is a total of +/- $0.64.
Frequently the amount is lower, only sometimes it comes close to the estimated amount, but my vote % is constantly on 80%.
I have calculated just a moment ago with the currently market prices that are going up (thank god). But as the market was not high past days the results are a little to low. Meaning i should have got more then i had right now even with the 25% cut.
To clarify: I took the amount of est. Steem on the vote calculator and converted it do dollars. Then i took both Steem and SBD income from my wallet and converted both to dollars and added them together.
The result in actual $$$ is at average 40 / 50% lower then the vote calculator shows as estimated.
If my vote power was like 95% now then i understand, not all power got sold. But my power is constantly around 80% and votes are going out all the time.
So why is it that i do not receive the amount that is promised ?
That the final result can differ a couple of % i can understand but not constantly 40 to 50%
If anyone knows more about please share.

We appreciate your comment.
Keep in mind that the calculator is just a rough estimation, so you shouldn't put too much emphasis on what you're supposed to earn. And to make this clear: we're not guaranteeing/promising a specific revenue.
But what we are doing is to create the best deal for vote-buyers & sellers alike. This includes making sure that votes are being sold, instead of VP stagnating at 100%.

@bumper Is better already to delegate that amount of steem with 20% you gonna receive around 90 Steem in 4 weeks so around 3+ Steem/day!
All the time just test what is better for you 😎

Thank you for your efficient response i understand it sounds like transfers using esteem surfer are not the way to go i will do them through Steemit.com like i was before. Thanks for your info on that and i will be looking forward to the upvote. Thank you.
My return from delegation is almost 40% less the past few days why is that? Should be getting nearly 5 steem a day, now im getting like 3.5 or less. Its been reducing the past week or so but last couple days alot less.

The estimation of 5 STEEM is exactly that: just an estimation.
Payout can fluctuate between days/weeks, depending on how many people are bidding/overbidding. Just today, bidding was halted for roughly an hour due to not enough bids. But rest assured, that's something we're looking into to automate, to prevent losses of ROI.
