Sunset flower stalks
Agave americana or Century Aloe is a plant that flowers only once in its lifetime, just before it dies. The aloes are large and the flower spikes huge, 3-4 meters tall. This is an old one which had fallen over and made some interesting silhouettes against the early evening sky.
Another shot, with the waxing moon in the sky above.

How sad. This plant is only blooming and is already preparing to die. Such a short life.
They live for many years before they bloom
Nice shots with the sky background :-)
Thank you
Very nice photo with the moon rising in the sky! This plant is quite big and strong!

Thank you, yes it is a giant stalk
Estupendas imagenes. Lastima que el arbol cayó. Morirá??
Yes, it is not a tree, just a flower stalk but it lives for many years before it dies
Great photos!
I liked the shapes it made
Yes, I agree with you, I also liked!
Nice shots... like old skeletons of plants. We used to see them when we'd go to Joshua Tree, in California... some very interesting things grow in the high desert; snows in the winter and is ridiculously hot in the summers.
