I love pasta pesto its rarely no more than a couple of weeks before I cook pesto up for dinner, nom nom, nom, lol. I have posted a basic recipe in the past of how I cook it up quick and easy in a matter of minutes, basically as long as it takes to boil up some pasta.

A key ingredient in my pasta pesto recipe is basil. I have had a plant on my widow sill for over a year and while it is great to have fresh basil on had to cook with its just a bit too small a plant to provide the amount of basil needed for my pesto addiction. As such I needed to find a way to get more basil for my buck.

I took some clippings from my Basil plant. I chose the highest stems on the plant and then dropped them in a cup of water. Slowly the stems began to root over time. At about the 2 week period the roots seemed long enough to plant. There was a nice window sill planter kicking around so it was used for the job of "new home" for the basil.

Once they were planted i gave them a nice drink of water. They have been getting a water every other day for the past few weeks, but they seem to be doing fine in their new home. Once they are established i hope they grow well enough to be trimmed for cooking while not taking too much away from the plant.

Oh!... there’s nothing like fresh herbs for cooking.
