Smartphone Photography contest — Rollerballs on Sherman
Howdy, here's my entry to this week's #smartphonephotography contest hosted by @juliank and @photocontests. Theme: movement.
This photo looks up toward the Sherman-Sheridan saddle from the Leadville side on a very warm day with high solar radiation. In the foreground you can clearly see multiple rollerballs and their tracks coming down Sherman.
According to the Colorado Avalanche Information Center, this is an obvious warning sign of loose wet avalanches, which are also known as sluffs or point releases. Time to turn around and get moving down the mountain before all that snow lets go and moves you down itself.
Camera: iPhone 7 with Vivid Cool filter.
