Starting a business focusing on resilience and sustainability - with the blockchain

Hi everyone!

I am new to Steem but it is incredible just looking around how helpful and involved the community is already. I am looking forward to getting involved in the cutting edge of social interaction without the menace of big corporations or government interfering. Ever since I started seeing some of my Twitter feed censored it seemed like there had to be a new option. The internet really has created so many opportunities for me to learn. But truth be told, I have always been more of a passive observer than someone who has been actively "social" on social media. The mindless trolling, chain messages, and cat videos made me question if there really was a good point to getting involved in the social aspect of the internet. Steem is exciting because I have more control over the content that I see and the reputation system helps to limit the psychosis of multiple account posting trolls.

My buisness is a way for me to explore and develop what I am passionate about in Northern Arizona. I am very interested in resilience, permaculture, and developing sustainable communities. I have an agorist philosophical bend and believe in close community based on free association. As the month progresses, I hope to create a blog where we can share and learn about ideas related to these things!

I truly believe in the power of decentralization and the blockchain. To that end, I am trying to migrate most of my small business operations over to the ever-increasing number of blockchain options. Right now I am moving my blog to Steem, my marketplace to OpenBazaar, and my trading to Bitsquare. It is really interesting how the technology is progressing and empowering people. In the near future, I want to pursue funding and participating in some of the projects to do fractional land ownership and management on the blockchain

The growth of decentralized networks is really a huge opportunity for us to develop alternative ways of doing business. It can also be a huge boon for Permaculture, since it seems like most of the people who are passionate about it tend to be younger without access to capital and land. Maybe the growth of co-housing legal agreements, fractional ownership, and internet learning will be a great catalyst to create the change where more self-sufficient and resilient communities can develop!
