Slums of Haiti, Jalousie.

in #slums7 years ago

This is Jalousie, it is practically the biggest slums off Haiti. Imagine what it must be like living in one of these "homes."

Thankfully none of these homes were destroyed in the monstrous earthquake that stroke the country in 2010.

They have finally been painted a couple years after the earthquake! Good thing to bring some color into these people's lives.

The coloured houses remind me of Santa Maria favela in Rio de Janeiro.

I couldn't imagine the lack of privacy, along with other struggles these people go through. When I saw the first photo, I thought it was a dump until I read the caption.

The lifestyle really is crazy!! no privacy, no peace and quiet. its very sad

I know this is not the slums, but on skidrow, which is a giant homeless people camp in Los Angeles they have discovered diseases not seen since the 1800s. it is crazy.

wow thats unreal... feel so bad for them :(

Wow Great photos. I wish Steemit could host higher resolution photos. Ahh well

OH wow, That is very sad.

doesn't help that crooked charities like the clinton foundation ran away with all the money intended to help these people. amazing pictures though.

Yeah that does not help at all! The pictures are really beautiful. They are not mine though

they took children too !!!

Slum really you must be joking check you the slums in indian these are good houses man just densely populated.

this picture reminds of what one would see in a cartoon depiction of a slum and the colour.... breathtaking tho. It will almost feel as if its not really a slum anymore to the residents

Just an example of third world idiots who live on top of each other because they are overpopulated (breed like rabbits according to the pope) and are unorganized allowing them to be victimized by corrupt governments.

like ants .... but with colors :)

I love the transition from the birds eye view waaay above down to the intense colors at human eye level. Beautiful and not at all what I was expecting it to look like.
