"Come and Draw Contest #5" theme: mermaids -->my entry; " Rainbow Mermaid "

hello everyone

Here is my entry-post for @hadley4 's come and draw contest with in this week (nr 5 ) the theme :

" Mermaids" " la sirena"!

As you probably know I have my weekly mermaid monday and I think there can never be enough mermaids draw contests so I love to join someone else's contest and because @Hadley4 is very kind always busy with drawing and showing his amazing art, I love to return the favor! I started out with a little something because I didn't have an exact idea of how I wanted my mermaid to become. I had some thoughts on making her hair float on the water and her body would be under water.
As I am drawing along, my mermaid begins to form in the way I like it.

This was done with my professional Kasmir sketching pencils

For the coloring I used KOH-I-NOOR Mondeluz 24 aquarelle coloured pencils, what gives an absolutely super intensive coloring effect.

As you can see I changed her eyes a few times, I wanted her to have a open look with some sparkle and used my good old white acrylic paint and a special dotted brush to make " life in the eyes" .
Her lips are made shiney as well for a finished look.
Here I also made the water so my first vision idea from a mermaid with her body under water came to life.

I wanted to give her some extra flair with bling and got my glitter diamonds ready again, love doing that. 😇
