Psychology is defined as the science of behaviour and mental processes
Note: That this defination contains three key terms:science behaviour and mental processes.
Psychology is considered a science because psychologyists attempt to understanding people by thinking criticaly observation.
The term behaviour refers to all of a person's over actions that others can directly observe.
The term mental processes refers to the private thoughts, emotions, fillings, and motives that other people can not directly observe.
Goal's of psychology
Describes: information gathered in scientific studies helps in scientific studies helps a psychologist describe behaviour and mental processes accurately.
Pridict: In some case's research gives a psychologist the tool to predict the future behaviour reasonably.
Understand: We understand because there is always more to learn. Our current explanations are always tentative.
Influence: It goes beyond the understanding to influence behavior in beneficial ways.
