What a show
Afternoon everyone….
It’s been quite a while since I’ve done a Three Tune Tuesday. But today is a very very appropriate day to do one.
Why????
Because last night I went to a concert at the PNC Art Center in Holmdel, New Jersey. Before I go any further, let me tell you who the bands were…
The headlining act was Staind, the opening act was Breaking Benjamin, and there was a third band I guess you’d call them the pre-opener. That band was Lakeview.
The PNC Art Center is an outdoor amphitheater. There is a seating area, which is covered from the elements. There are 7,000 seats available under the pavilion which are covered. There are an additional space behind that called lawn seating, which can handle an additional 10,500 people from what the PNC Art Center website says.
*** That’s a whole lot of people….***
Here is a view of it from when we just arrived.
These tickets were bought by my girlfriend during a special promotion for $25 per seat. Well for lawn seating, which is really standing. They do rent chairs but most people stand during the entire show so they are basically useless.
The pre-opener Lakeview, I had never heard of before. And I now know why…..
They are what I can best describe as a country band trying to be heavy metal. It’s a very strange mix in my opinion, and hearing the hillbilly twang to a heavy metal song gave me the cringes.
But I’ll let you decide….
This is my first song on Three Tune Tuesday. It’s a song named Poor Me from Lakeview.
Let me know what you think….
Now the next band up is Breaking Benjamin, who I am a fan of. They had a great set and were very tight. Sound was excellent and they played all great song choices.
This is one of their most well known songs it is named Breath. This is my second choice for Three Tune Tuesday.
This is a great song, but they have many to choose from. Here are some photos from the show.
It was the first time that I’ve seen them live, and they surely did not disappoint.
Now for the headliner….
Staind is an awesome band in my personal opinion. They’ve been around for quite some time now. There first album is from 1995, so nearly thirty years of music.
I have seen them numerous times over the years, most recently I posted them playing with Godsmack that I attended not too long ago.
They have a plethora of hits, but there are two songs that to me define them. Mudshovel and Something to remind you. They are completely different style songs, but are two of my favorites.
So I am giving you my third installment of Three Tune Tuesday, with Mudshovel then a bonus track with Something to remind you.
Here are some photos from the show.
So these are my choices for Three Tune Tuesday which is the brain trust of @ablaze. And this is my submission, hope you enjoyed it.
I can tell you that I sure enjoyed the concert.
