The standard in silver

Afternoon everyone …..

Gold and silver have been money as far as history goes back. Gold was held by every empire and kings as wealth. Wars were fought over it for centuries. It has been used in barter for centuries as well. Hell the United States dollar was once backed by it. Picture that an entire countries fiat backed by physical gold……

While I’m not going back quite that far. I do believe that over two hundred years is far back enough.

Well Johnson Matthey became an assayer of precious metals all the way back in 1817. While they are still a company, they are no longer in the precious metals industry.

All of their facilities and machinery was sold to Asahi Metals in the early 2000’s. There’s no exact date that I could find. Asahi was already an established company prior to them buying Johnson Matthey’s equipment and facilities.

Johnson Matthey has turned into a company trying to help make a cleaner planet to live. You can look that up yourself if you are interested.

As a silver and gold product producer Johnson Matthey is the ORIGINAL GANGSTER!!!! They are well known in all of Europe, Canada and the United States. The quality of their products is impeccable. Which has cemented their legacy as one of the top most sought after pieces in precious metals.

Their ingot bars are highly sought after and the Canadian leaf stamped, and London stamped bars go for insane premiums.

This is not an ingot bar. But it is a pristine ten ounce pressed bar, in its original mint packaging. It looks like it just left the mint, and yet this bar is older than most people that will read this post. This series was produced in the mid 1980’s. They do command a high premium, but are a must have for a serious stacker.

Here is the absolutely new looking Johnson Matthey bar….

Holding a piece of history….
