In line
Afternoon everyone…..
With the hurricane coming up the coast, last night and today were not the best of days weather wise. It’s been rather windy. With scattered rain here and there. Not too much rain but it’s been very overcast.
So it was a day to hit up Britton’s Bakery. They have been open for decades. I remember coming here as a child. They open up at 6:30am every day but Tuesday which they are closed. The lines start early to get inside. I was there at 6:45am, and this was the line.
They are known for their Apple fritters. But everything is excellent. Nobody else was up, so it was up to me to make the decisions on what to get. I got a good mixture of things. Some danish apple and cheese, an Apple fritter, a few cinnamon buns, and a few donuts.
We then decided to take a drive over to Sunset Beach. This is the best spot to view a sunset, which explains the name.
Just off the shore is a sunken concrete ship, it’s been there for decades now and is slowly degrading. I took a picture of the poster they had in the museum explaining it. Yes, it was a concrete boat, and yes it actually could sail.
