On the job….
Afternoon everyone …..
It’s been a really long time since I posted any of my work. So long that I it was last year some time. So today I’m going to share a project that I’m in the middle of completing.
These are repeat customers of mine. I have done several jobs for them over the years. Originally we were going to do the entire kitchen. That was the plan, but they had decided against it last minute, because they are only staying in the house for another three to five years they determined. The original kitchen is not in bad shape at all, it’s not my work but it’s in good shape.
So….
They went with plan B. In the original kitchen layout that I had drawn up, they wanted a kitchen bar set up adjacent to the main kitchen. The layout of the kitchen is a long L shape with a rather large island. Across from that is a wall that had from right to left a pantry cabinet, a Sub Zero refrigerator, another pantry cabinet, then a 54” open wall.
The open space wasn’t big enough for what they had envisioned, so the pantry cabinet to the left of the refrigerator had to go. Giving us just over six feet of wall space, which was enough for the layout I designed for them.
Here is what I came up with….
The wood species is Canadian hard maple, the chosen color of stain is called autumn, which also has a white glaze over it. The top has a pedestal glass door cabinet, to the right is an open bookcase style cabinet, which has a built in top hat to double stack bottles of liquor. There will also be two 1/2” thick tempered glass shelves as well for bottles. (Awaiting there delivery still) the exposed side of the pedestal cabinet is finish with a raised panel to match the door profile and finish off the look. There is a custom crown molding topper across the top as well.
Across the base is a beverage chiller, a tall base cabinet with a roll out garbage can, then a double drawer base cabinet. The top drawer has a cooler insert for ice. The end panel of the base cabinet also has a raised panel to match the profile of the doors.
What do you think???
