Afternoon everyone…..

Well, where do I begin……

We had to be out of our Airbnb by 10:00am. Which was not a big deal at all. We were packed and all ready to go. But our flight wasn’t scheduled to leave until 2:30pm, and our rental car had to be dropped off by 11:00am, so we couldn’t even wander a bit.

Then…..

Comes the snafu…..

The email stated that the car had to be returned to one place, which was at the airport. While the ticket stub that you get pulling out when we picked up the car stayed to return it back to the off site facility we got it from.

Luckily, they decided to listen to me, and went to the off site where we picked it up first. Because getting back out of the airport is a nightmare. The off site place was correct as the ticket stub stated.

A quick shuttle over to the airport. The TSA line at the Vegas airport isn’t very long luckily. We got to our gate and our flight was still showing on time. But we were there three hours early. My girlfriends so was hungry so we went and got food.

Then the first bomb dropped….

They announced a two hour delay on our flight. Our plane coming in was coming from Atlanta. Then an hour later it was changed to a three and a half hour delay. Apparently they had shut down three quarters of the airport due to excessive heat. They said temperatures on the ground were in excess of 124 degree there.

So our 2:40pm take off, turned into an actual take off of 5:58pm. Which with the three hour time difference coming back had us landing at just past 2am EST. By the time we got back to my girlfriend’s house it was almost 3am.

But…

We landed safely, and the trip was amazing. A small hiccup getting home.

I’m tired as hell, gonna and get organized for a hard couple days coming up.
