A little Italian….

Afternoon everyone….

The other day I made reservations at a highly touted Italian restaurant moderately close to where my girlfriend lives. The name of the place is Tuscana Trattoria. It is listed as one of the top Italian restaurants in the state. Which is a pretty big praise considering the amount of Italian restaurants and the concentration of Italian Americans living here.

It’s a family owned establishment, and it’s not overly large. There are between 25-30 tables inside and there is outside dining as well for about 8 tables.

Let me start off by saying the service here alone is one of the best I’ve ever had. They are extremely attentive without being overbearing. Filling the water glasses and cleaning the table without a hesitation.

We started with a Caesar salad, which was very good. Somehow the picture that I took disappeared on me.

For dinner I chose a special of the day. It was a double cut bone in veal chop in a sherry wine pan sauce with shiitake mushrooms. It is served with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The mashed potatoes were like silk. The veal chop a was so flavorful and the sauce was a great accompaniment.

Jennifer decided on the chicken parmigiana, which was served with freshly made linguini. You can tell just by looking at it the sauce is freshly made from the bright red color. It was so tender no need for a knife.

For dessert we decided on a family recipe tiramisu and a creme brûlée crusted cheesecake. We shared both. The tiramisu was the lightest tiramisu I’ve ever eaten. The cheesecake was amazing.

I will definitely be going back.
