New
Afternoon everyone…..
I’m back with yet another new release. This one I was quite shocked to see.
I’m sure most of you remember the Royal Mint’s Queens Beast series which started in 2016. Well they just released an extremely limited bar version of the very popular completer. The completer is a compilation of all ten of the Queens Beasts on one coin. Well in this case a bar.
They are really limited on these considering the popularity of this series. The one ounce silver version is limited to only 70,000 worldwide. The one ounce gold is limited to just 5,000 worldwide. But the one that I’m going to be buying is the silver ten ounce bar which is limited to only 6,000 worldwide.
For the folks that don’t know, here are the ten characters associated with each.
The Lion of England
The Greyhound of Richmond
The Yale of Beaufort
The Red Dragon of Wales
The White Horse of Hanover
The White Lion of Mortimer
The Unicorn of Scotland
The Griffon of Edward III
The Black Bull of Clarence
The Falcon of the Plantenets
All of these coins were well designed by the Royal Mint’s engraver Jody Clark. She also designed the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II for the reverse.
Her depiction of these characters is amazing since the original Queen’s Beast statues are more cartoonish in nature. She made these characters very bold and very precise.
Here is what the bar looks like:
I really like how the design aligns with the bar being held point to point versus just being squared like the shape of them bar. Nice touch in design.
