I’m back again with another numismatic piece….
While I love the old United States coinage and it makes up more than eighty percent of my collection of numismatic coins. I do love vintage and unique world coins as well.
The thing that draws me to world coinage is that the designs change very frequently if not yearly. Most of the older world coins have cool history with well thought out designs as well.
I only buy coinage that is made of silver or gold though. Almost exclusively silver.
I’ve shared several of them here on the platform. I’m trying to narrow down a submission I’d like to get out to PCGS for grading, but I’ve been really busy as of late.
This coin is a candidate for grading. It’s a 1944 Swiss 2 Franc coin. There were over six million of these produced. But for some reason really nice examples sell for big bucks. The note that I had attached to this coin, stated that I picked it up for just under ten dollars at a coin show in 2012.
Looking through completed auctions of this coin. A mint state version graded, sells for between $170-$280 depending on the grade.
In my opinion this coin is definitely a mint state coin. Just how high in the mint state I’m unsure of. But I could possibly turn this ten dollar coin, plus twenty two dollars for grading into a nice pay day.
