Oh Peanut…

Afternoon everyone…..

It’s been quite a while since I’ve shared a post on the best puppy in the world Peanut. She’s only a month away from being three years old now. Her birthday is May 6th, which I’m sure that I’ll be doing a birthday post for her then.

I had mentioned in a few of my posts a little while back now, that my girlfriend’s stepdad had open heart surgery to fix a leaky valve back at the beginning of February. It was on the eleventh to be exact. He was in the hospital for five days before being released to come home. When they bought this house nearly four years ago, they turned the basement into a full apartment making it into a mother/daughter. So Peanut would go downstairs and go room by room looking for pops every day. It was pretty funny watching her, but it wasn’t funny seeing her looking sad not seeing him.

When he came home she went nuts. Jennifer’s smart thinking was to put her walking chain on her because she couldn’t touch him on the chest at all because of the surgery. There was a recliner upstairs that I brought down for him, because he couldn’t lay down flat for a month. She knew something was wrong with him and wouldn’t leave his side. She laid on the couch right next to him most of the day and all night to watch over him. She’s such a good dog.

She has never chewed anything in the house at all. But she does destroy toys. Nothing plush will survive a day, tennis balls, squeaky toys all ruined within a day or two. Kong toys non plush seem to be the best. She chews toys constantly. She has a big bag of toys that is inside a glass door cabinet. If she wants something from it, she goes to the door a looks at you until you get up and open the door. She will stick her head in, grab the toy she wants and goes. It’s pretty cute.

She sleeps in the craziest positions and usually steals your spot in bed before you get in. I have come upstairs to find her on my pillow somehow partially tucked under the sheets and blankets.

Look at the smile on her face while she is sleeping with her paws up in the air.

The neighbors daughter just got a new puppy the other day. Peanut met Mellie this morning for the first time. Needless to say we were out there for over an hour letting them play.
