No need to assume aliens.
The earth has had at least five great extinctions.
Suppose that some of them weren't as "great' as we think.
Suppose that some of THEM live among us.
At one time it was true...
how many of the other species of man had larger brains then we do?
on the other hand
living proof that brains aren't required.
