Who the heck makes the playoffs in STEEM POWERED

in #sff20186 years ago (edited)

In the STEEM POWERED league, Mr. @full-measure has briefly mentioned his interpretation of which teams will make the playoffs in the event of a tied record.

And from what I can gather from using google.com, it seems the first tiebreaker is division record. For the division winner. But then total points is the tiebreaker for the wildcard.
So if I were to lose a H2H matchup with milano or stank, it could be pretty pivotal. And so in other words, every game is really important, and Crazy Eyes and I both have a lot on the line today.

I'm STREAM POWERED, in Division 2. Division 1 has much higher point scorers than my division, but Milano and (especially) who stank have had some tough breaks, so two teams in my division are tied or have better records than them.

I also did some googling, and I honestly have no idea who makes the playoffs in the event of an inter-division tied record or a wild card tied record. For wild card, I'd assume points win in the event of a tie record, but I don't know. For inter-division, I would have thought that points would be the tie-breaker as well, but FM's googling suggested that the first tiebreaker is division record.

So. @full-measure. What did you find? Do you have a helpful link?

Does anyone else know anything? Thanks folks!

Nice job teaching yourself to hyperlink!

So, I basically found some random guy on a message board saying how it works. So totally unofficial and a leap of faith. But he seemed reliable. No typos, good detail, crisp tone, etc.

I'll look around and try to rediscover it...

Anyone else?

Ok I think I found it here, click the "Regular season tiebreakers" box at the bottom:

(tldr: you were right)

Wild card

In Fantasy Football:
Total fantasy points (season total).
Fantasy points scored in the most recently completed matchup.
Fantasy points scored in the matchup two weeks prior (this continues until the tie is broken).

Division championship tie

The division winning percentage is used first.
If there's still a tie, the wild card method (above) is used.
If there's more than 2 managers tied for division champion, once the winner is determined, the remaining >teams will use the wild card method only (division winning percentage is ignored).

Nice. I mean I wish we found out division record was NOT the first tiebreaker lol, but nice that we sorted it out.

Nice find, Mr. Horse.
