[ENG] Learning a new language.

A good habit that I want to begin this month
Hello Steemians! In recent years (2016, 2017 and now 2018) I got involved in a new society for me, like ''a new world'', I have wanted to make a publication on this topic for some time, along with the question of this week's challenge. I take the opportunity to do it.
Deaf Association of Caracas, Venezuela
It all started at my university, the place where we all at some point do what is known as ''social community work'', that's what everyone happens at least once while they study. Thanks to a colleague from the university, I got to know this place, a building located in downtown Caracas, Venezuela where people with hearing disabilities meet.
From the first moment I arrived I felt like a stranger in the place, it was hard for me to understand them and they made an effort to make us understand what they were saying to us (the listeners), since then I was eager to learn to communicate with them, I have been there every Saturday that I can, helping them with whatever they need, mainly arranging their photographic archive (my specialty at the university is photography) so that's what I do there most of the time, but other activities always arise where sometimes they ask me for collaboration to me or other students from other universities.
This image is part of the record of the file I made there, newspaper clippings from the '60s, '70s, '80s,' 90s, which had been saved, nowadays I am digitizing them so that this part of their history is not lost in the future.
After almost 2 years I decided to participate in the course they give there on Venezuelan sign language, 1 week ago I finished the basic level and they gave me my certificate, for which I feel quite proud, I really did not think I could, despite to believe that it would be the most difficult thing in the world, is really simple and putting all the effort becomes even easier. Now I can have small conversations and communicate with them, and that makes me feel very happy inside, after almost a couple of years I can say that I understand them almost perfectly when they speak to me, the complicated thing is to answer them because I still do not have the vocabulary complete, but that will come with time.

A photo of me with the certificate. Wohoo!!
So what good habit do I want to start this month?
- I want to dedicate more time in sign language, share with my friends in the Association and improve my way of expressing myself, work to improve facial expressions. This is one of my many goals, which was added just a few years ago to my list, I did not really see it as necessary before, but after all this time I change my mind, I think it is necessary and that all the people, in general, should learn, learning new languages is always a good thing.
Hello Maria, will we help each other here?
Congrats on getting certified!
Thank you mate!
