How to thrive in a negative environment

So here you are - sad, depressed, angry, misunderstood and powerless over the opinions of others.
Why won’t they like me?
Is there something wrong with me?
What did I ever do to them?

Here’s a few things you can try!

You can go up to them and ask directly. Make sure no one else is around so they don’t have to put up an extra show for anyone else. When you’re an eye to an eye with this person, it’s easier to be honest, authentic and get to the case faster. Remember to not blame them for anything but genuinely let them know how you feel and if there is something you might have done wrong. You might discover there’s been a silly misunderstanding – or that you actually have been a jerk. If so, apologize, tell them it wasn’t your intention and ask how you can make up for it – and then actually do it.

If that doesn’t solve it, you now have a few other options...

  1. Completely ignore what is happening and don’t let it affect your inner state and your performance. Rely on self love and self respect – try out a positive and encouraging self talk throughout your day. Sometimes the goal of a bully is to impact you and see you breaking down but if that’s not happening, they will give up sooner or later. Stand in knowing who you are and what your worth is and no one can affect how you feel about yourself.

  2. If it’s becoming a real problem, talk to someone who is in a higher position than the „bully”. It could be a company manager, owner of a place, a director, a teacher, or even the „bully’s” mother. Tell them it’s really affecting your everyday life and you would like their help in resolving this situation.

  3. Sometimes, after you’ve tried everything and it still continues - it’s simply best to leave. It’s hard to change a job, a school or heck, - even your own family!, but you can’t let someone ruin your life – you only have one and are deserving of a quality time on this Earth you are meant to call Home. I’ve changed schools and I’ve temporarily cut out family members for my own good – it’s not easy but sometimes you just have to preserve yourself in any way you can. Until it gets better, keep your head up, remember that you are worthy, beautiful and deserving of a good life. Love and shield yourself from anyone who thinks otherwise! Remember that language is powerful – what you tell to yourself matters! It can either build you up, or break your down. Speak kindly to yourself.

Sending Love to you all,
Annija <3
